A Message from CESASC President of 2020

Dear CESASC Members and Friends:

Warmest greetings!

2020 is the year of Olympic games. Inspired by the Olympic Motto “Citius, Altius, Fortius”, which is Latin for "faster, higher, stronger", the Chinese-American Engineers and Scientists Association of Southern California (CESASC) will show our spirits to pursue excellence and make CESASC the best in its kind. Hereby, we are excited to inform you that CESASC will hold the 58th Annual Convention at the highest building of the US west coast -- InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on June 6th, 2020. “Science meets Art” is chosen as this year’s theme to explore the intersections of two seemingly different disciplines.

Founded in 1962, CESASC is one of the largest and most prestigious Chinese American professional organizations in Southern California. Over the past 57 years, CESASC has been serving the community via the association’s annual technical symposium, scholarship, business innovation program, career development and leadership training, and STEM workshop and contest. Those programs have benefited numerous early career professionals in their respective fields and future scientists and engineers in their formative ages. CESASC is extremely honored to have so many Chinese American “celebrities” as our past speakers and awardees from Nobel laureates such as Dr. Chen Ning Yang (楊振寧) and Dr. Samuel Ting (丁肇中), to political stars such as Elain Chao (趙小蘭) and Steven Chu (朱棣文), to legendary detective Dr. Henry Lee (李昌鈺), and so on (see all the names in P5-P6).

This year, we have created the following programs for you to gain unprecedented experiences:

1.           1pm-5pm: Daytime Programs, featuring 10+ high-profile speakers touching various hottest fields of technology, business and arts, with business and technology exhibition in parallel;

2.           5pm-6:30pm: Cocktail Party at the hotel sundeck;

3.           6:30pm-9:30pm: Gala Dinner, featuring keynote speech, award ceremony and entertainment.

First time ever, our scholarship program will be in collaboration with Lisa Lu Foundation (盧燕基金會) to feature 3 awardees majoring in literature and arts in addition to our traditional 8-10 scholarship awardees. Thank you for your support in any capacity that you would, and look forward to having you as our honored guest on June 6th, 2020.

Sincerely,
