Message from New CESASC President
Dear CESASC members and friends:
It is with great honor that I am standing here today as the newly elected president of CESASC. I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence you have in me to lead this esteemed organization.
I would like to thank Terry Guo and all the CESASC executive committee members for their hard work and dedication in making CESASC a more reputable and professional organization, and I look forward to continuing building upon their success by enhancing the connection and collaboration among all of us, our community, and our friends.
As engineers and scientists, we are striving for excellence, and we recognize the importance of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. Our association has been a driving force in advancing the fields of engineering and science, and I am committed to continuing this legacy.
As we move forward, we always face many challenges, both within our association, our fields, and in the world at large. As an association, we have a unique opportunity to come together and use our collective expertise to address these challenges. We must also address issues of climate change, technological advancements, and social justice. I am committed to fostering an environment of acceptance and collaboration, where we can share our ideas and work together to achieve our common goals.
I will continue to be a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion within our association and in the broader community. CESASC has a long-standing tradition of supporting and promoting Chinese American in engineering and science communities, and I will ensure that this remains a high priority. In addition, as you all know, our CESASC members and past presidents include scholars, scientists, entrepreneurs, experts, and exceptional leaders from both mainland China and Taiwan, and other parts of the world. As Chinese Americans, we share a common heritage and culture that can serve as a basis for collaboration. We should work together to embrace the spirit of collaboration and friendship in cultural exchange and scientific discovery.
I want to encourage all our members to take an active role in the association. We are only as strong as our members, and your support and participation are crucial to our success. As the President of CESASC, I welcome your feedback, ideas, and suggestions. I am also willing to hear your concerns and work with the board to address and resolve those concerns and issues.
I am excited about the journey that we will be on together, and, as your president, I look forward to working with the board and all CESASC members to make a positive impact on our community and beyond.
Jonathan H. Jiang
President, CESASC 2023-2024
