Some of highlights of this year’s Convention are listed below:

  • Lunch Keynote speech – Dr. Alex Hall, the UCLA Professor, will deliver the lunchtime technical keynote on the subject of “What Climate Change Means for LA”
  • LEAP (Leadership, Excellence, Aspiration, and Platform) Career Development Forum with selected CESASC Distinguished Awardees of this year and other very successful professionals.
  • Technical Symposium - Afternoon, 2 topics, water and energy, led by top scientists in the fields
  • Social Networking Hours - 4 pm to 6 pm with our members, speakers and awardees.
  • Gala Dinner - Distinguished Achievement Award ceremony to recognize leaders in the Asian American community. – Dr. Steve Chu, Nobel Laureate in Physics, US 12th Secretary of Energy, Dr. Henry Tzu-Yow Yang, Chancellor of UC Santa Barbara and Member of National Academy of Engineering, Dr. Yang Yang distinguished UCLA Professor, Dr. Bill Chiu of Southern California Edison, and Dr. C. Y. Chang of Raytheon.  
  • Welcome speech will be provided by UCLA Chancellor Gene Block
